“An experimental short feature film about suns and death, friendship and escaping the realism of everyday life,  a practice of letting go.

All the characters and scenes are real.

Swedish Finnish Matilda is living her eventful life in Stockholm. Her parents are in Finland. They are 476 kilometers apart which is better than fine.  The geological distance to Finland is greater than the space between real life and fantasy.

Matilda is busy creating her artist career but getting tired of the intense dynamism of the precarious art field.

There’s an unexpected turn in Matilda's life when her grandmother A D A comes for a visit.

Grandmother A D A who died the previous winter.

Adalmina and Matilda. Almost like a palindrome.

She arrives from the other side carrying along some strong coffee and strong views from beyond death. And a message.

Is it finally time for Matilda  to open up the problematic relationship with her mother, is
A D A the answer for everything?

But Ada doesn’t have time to start going through all the emotional baggage: the relationship with her mother, identity struggles of a Finn Swede and the lacking sense of belonging. She wants to focus on living now that she’s dona a nice comeback!

All this results in a head spinning journey through the meaningfulness of life – or away from it.

“If you don’t go chasing any meaning  - nothing will feel empty.”

Finally, the true rest comes from beyond self criticism, in the small moments when you stop reflecting on yourself. When the focus shifts from yourself to someone else.

At last, after all the fun and games, the true reason for ADA’s arrival is revealed. She makes a decision that will change everything.

It is time for the funeral to begin.

The final part of the film melts into a fantasy with music carrying images of rituals, death, life, joy and magic. “

“A black hole is a star so big that it has collapsed into its own largeness. One infinitely small explosion sucking itself in, wrapping life around itself and its end.”
